About the event
- When and where is WordCamp Lira 2024?
WordCamp Lira 2024 will be held at Lira Town College, Lira city, in northern Uganda. It will be the first WordCamp in northern Uganda.
2. How long will the WordCamp Lira 2024 take?
WordCamp Lira 2024, the first WordCamp in northern shall be a 1-day event, starting on 08:00am to 05:00pm.
Event tickets
3. How will the tickets costs.
The approved regular ticket price will be UGX 40,000 (or USD 11).
4. What does my ticket cover?
Full day access to presentations, breakfast, lunch, t-shirt, snacks, and water.
5. Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are not refundable; however, you can transfer it to another person.
6. How many tickets can I purchase?
You can purchase as many tickets as you like, provided they are in different names.
7. What payment methods are available?
There are two options for paying for your ticket. You can deposit to bank account using details below.

8. Do I need prior experience to attend?
No, you don’t need any prior experience – anyone can the WordCamp.
9. Is it allowed to attend any track?
Your ticket allows you to attend any track you want. However, it is good to decide which track you really want, and then follow proceedings from the beginning to the end, for a wholesome experience.
Accommodation
There will be two accommodation options for attendees, namely accommodation outside the venue (hotels, guest houses, lodges), and within venue (in the college campus – dormitory). More information about this will be published in subsequent blog posts
Travel
We advice those faraway (Kampala and surrounding areas, Arua, Mbale, Karamoja) to travel day before the event, or travel at night and reach in the morning. Those within Lira and surrounding areas (Alebtong, Dokolo, Gulu, Soroti) can travel very early in the morning on event day.
